What is Integrated Pest Management?
Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is the use of natural and safe methods to
control landscape insects and disease.
IPM is an "environment friendly: alternative to the indiscriminate spraying of
chemical pesticides to treat lawns, trees and shrubs. An IPM-trained landscaper controls plant pests by regularly monitoring a
landscape and applying scientific knowledge about plants, weather, pests and the
environment.

Using less pesticide helps ensure the safety of homeowners and their pets. It
also means less harm to local wildlife, forests and streams.
Healthy plants are more resistant to insects and disease.
New Concept Lawn & Landscape, Inc. has been properly trained in the use and
application of the IPM techniques.
Studies prove IPM's emphasis on pest prevention and natural pest controls
reduces pesticide use by 40 to 88 percent. IPM-trained landscapers have the
advantage of offering an environmentally sound program and a healthier
landscape.
The blanket spraying of pesticides to control landscape insects and diseases is
becoming less acceptable, particularly in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic
regions. IPM techniques ensure healthy lawns, golf courses and landscapes.
